You have produced an informative piece of research which clearly shows evidence of time and effort being spent on the task. Your literacy skills are very good and this is encouraging as spelling, punctuation and grammar are always important when presenting work.
You have also shown, by using Prezi, that you are able to use new media technologies to good effect and I am pleased to see you embedding images and videos from Youtube.
Overall this is a highly proficient piece of research.
From conducting this research task, how do you think modern audiences would react if they watched a 70s horror film today? Are these films still scary?
Thank you for your feedback. As a response to your question, I don't think todays audience would react the same way they did in the 70s when watching the same horror films. Due to technology improving rapidly, special effects in films are a lot more impressive nowadays and have a much higher standard compared to how they were used when they were first introduced to horror. Although films like 'The Exorcist' were very impressive with their effects and technology in the 70s, more films nowadays have much more to them and have a much bigger effect on the audience.
Agreed BUT does better technology mean scarier films? If I was playing 'devil's advocate' I would say that the advances in technology have meant that film-makers have moved away from genuinely scary content to an over-reliance on CGI and special effects.
Have you ever watch the original version of 'The Exorcist' or one of the other classic 70's horror films such as 'The Omen' or 'The Shining'? If so, do you think they are less scary than modern horror films?
Better technology does mean scarier films as the effects are much more realistic. However, I disagree with your statement as nowadays films such as 'paranormal Activity' are much scarier films compared to the 70s films and still use highly advanced technology. 'The shining' does not use as much special effects however, they build up good suspense and tension for the audience, therefore still being scary. Overall, I feel that horror films are more scary with the technology and special effects we have in todays society.
Thank you for completing this task on time Becca.
