Planning : Treatment For Our Film Opening

Now me and Loris have received feedback from our target audience we are able to move on and start planning our opening 2 minutes for 'Ring Around Rosie'. Overall, we are very happy with the results we received about our film and are also very happy with our overall plot of the film.

Video : What will be happening on screen during our opening 2 minutes.

Due to our film being about dolls and children we want the footage viewed to be quite erratic and unsettling also due to the theme of the film/setting. There will be a collection of camera shots and angles viewed throughout the 2 minutes consisting of shots such as:

  • Panning / Close Up - A newspaper showing the story of the house fire and evidence of the family etc.
  • Over the Shoulder shot - Rosie watching the other orphans play.
  • Long shot - Rosie running with her dolls and bears.
  • Mid shot / high angle - Being tucked into bed by her parents. (flashback)
Audio : What will the audience be able to hear - diegetic and non-diegetic.

Our film will be including a lot of audio especially non-diagetic sound due to the theme being haunted dolls and some paranormal activity. A few sounds we have already thought of and would like to include in our film are listed below:
  • A Radiobroadcast
  • 'Ring Around The Rosie' Rhyme
  • A Music box tune
  • Children laughing/crying/screaming
  • Fire/burning
  • Ticking clock
Titles : How we will be using titles in our opening 2 minutes.

We are still unsure on how we will include our opening titles with the footage however, once we have created our storyboards we will be able to get more of a better view on where things should be placed. Below are some titles we are thinking of using and how we could include them:
  • The Title 'Ring Around Rosie' - Jumpscare at the end viewed on top of Rosie's face.
  • Company Name 'LB Global Entertainment' - at the beginning.
  • An other company name.
  • Directors/Editors/Producers
  • Casting Role names
